The inspiration: We wanted to make a red wine with a light body and structure, but with aromatic complexity and elegance. The wine evolves in the glass at every sip.
Winemaking: The grapes were picked from a local vineyard situated in Penola: thanks to the warmer inland maritime climate this vineyard can reach the best expression; with warmer days and cooler nights the perfect combination of aromas and elegance is reached.
Following harvest, the juice has fermented for 10 days on skins, and later the wine has rested in seasoned and new French oak hogsheads for four months before going to bottle.
Tasting notes: Light and bright ruby, this wine evolves in a big spectrum of aromas when poured in the glass. Initially raspberry and violets, followed by candied apples. It ends with a leafy finish that converts in earthy and mushroom notes.
On the palate displays a light body, lively acidity, and delicate velvety tannins. A balanced mixture of red fruits and herbs.
Cellaring: We made this wine to be drunk young and fresh. We suggest drinking this wine from now to 3-4 years maximum.
